The application deadline is approaching for the 13th Japan Media Arts Festival: on 25th September 2009.
They seek and await dynamic creative works that are opening up a new era from all over the world.
Japan Media Arts Festival defined “media arts” not only as arts using digital representations and technologies but also as entertainment genres including animation, manga and games, and has been contributing to the improvement of media arts in Japan by recognizing excellence in works and by providing an opportunity for artists to present their works since 1997.

Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz

"JAPAN GAME" is open now!! till 8th September.

Exhibition of Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz in the 30th anniversary year of Arts Electronica. This is the first-time for this exhibition in Europe for the Japan Media Arts Festival.

Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz “JAPAN GAME” is focusing on a aspect of entertainment in Japanese media arts. The selected award-winning game works of Japan Media Arts Festival will be exhibited. All the games in the variety of Sports, Music, Adventure, etc. are playable. They hope the audience will enjoy and focus on the artistic expression and the media art of the games.

From 12th to 20th of September, the exhibition Japan Media Arts Festival, Vienna 2009 is taking place. It sheds light on Japanese unique culture about sensibility and feelings to OTO which were grown in the four seasons and rich natural environment, the figurative expression which transforms OTO into visual words.
