On November 2nd, internationally acclaimed gypsy-punk powerhouse Gogol Bordello will release Live From Axis Mundi, a double CD/DVD set through SideOneDummy Records. Available for the first time on DVD, Live From Axis Mundi documents two sold-out nights in 2007 at Irving Plaza in New York City. Featuring all the Gogol Bordello live favorites -- including “Start Wearing Purple,“ (the original studio version was produced by Bad Seed Jim Sclavunos) and the ultimate encore song “Baro Foro” – Live From Axis Mundi fully captures the infectious energy of these now legendary shows.
Also in the Live From Axis Mundi package are music videos for “Start Wearing Purple,” “Not A Crime,” “Wonderlust King,” and

“American Wedding,” along with bonus chronicles and extra tracks. Additionally, there is an entire CD of previously unreleased studio tracks and demos, and the band’s March 2008 Radio 1 session on “In The Company Of (with Colin Murray)”.
Gogol Bordello’s unique sound grew out of the immigrant experiences of front man Eugene Hütz. A Ukrainian forced from his home by 1986’s Chernobyl nuclear disaster, Hütz roamed through Hungary, Austria, and Italy before settling in New York City and founding Gogol Bordello in 1999.

Since the release of Gypsy Punks in 2005, Gogol Bordello has been circling the globe, igniting audiences with their frenzied brand of anarchic mayhem, and steadily packing in bigger and bigger venues. They have wowed festival stages around the world, including Glastonbury and a performance at last year’s “Live Earth” at Wembley Stadium. Having garnered near universal praise as one of the most outstanding live acts around, Gogol Bordello are gearing up for another global stomp come October.
