100 years of great press photographs is the Guardian and the Observer's new nine-day series that brings together the most important press photography from every decade of the last century.

Selected by a panel that includes press photographers, photo editors and Brett Rogers of The Photographers’ Gallery, each image is accompanied by a short written piece explaining it’s historical or artistic significance.
